THE STRUCTURE

HISTORY

The “Castellaccio”, or more commonly known as “Castlasc” or “Scarlasc”, is an ancient stone building of Medieval origin, recently renovated, and takes its name from a place on the hills of Albavilla, where already in the Iron Age there were fortified enclosures.

In medieval times several castles were built in the area, but “Il Castellaccio” was probably just a simple service building in which, according to some writings, the Roman consul Marco Tullio Cicero could also have stayed!

TODAY: AN OASIS OF AUTHENTIC WELL-BEING

Today it is a big rural stone house with a large garden and woods. it houses 4 bedrooms with private bathroom upstairs, a breakfast room, also used as a common area, two small reading corners in the hall and upstairs, as well as a large outdoor area for breakfast and relaxation during the warm season.

Here at Castellaccio we’ve tried to combine the charm of local traditions with a more modern comfort. Our rooms have been renovated with care and they are furnished with rustic antique furniture and objects from our beloved mountains and countryside. We hope that these details will make you feel at home, immersing you in the authentic atmosphere of Albavilla
